Qualifications
Licensed Registered Nurse. Candidate must have strong computer skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Desirable Qualifications
3-5 years of nursing experience. Strong customer focus with critical thinking and problem solving techniques. Knowledge of various Caterpillar personnel and/or benefit policies and procedures is desired. Good Human Relation skills are required to develop a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside the department.
Responsibilities
· Provides case management services for employees on medical leave of absence from work;
· Acts as the centralized repository for medical data and the HIPAA-compliant liaison between, (a) the employee, (b) treatment providers, (c) occupational medicine staff, (d) HR and the supervisor, and (d) Compensation and Benefits (C+B);
· Supports C+B and HR in the administration of various disability plans and payroll policies.
· Receives and critically evaluates medical documentation to determine the need for medical leave and the appropriateness of both medical restrictions and accommodations;
· Consults and provides feedback to employees and providers on evidence bases practice guidelines.
· Provides occupational support, health coaching and referrals to appropriate care.
· Assists occupational physicians in evaluating readiness for return-to-work;
· Compiles and maintains accurate and complete records within appropriate database(s);
· Serves as a member of the disability management team in the ongoing improvement of the case management processes.
