Job Functions – Positions Available: 2
Purpose:
To manage the Truck Sales Order development process from providing pre-order guidance and instructions through delivery working with the dealer body and with direct accounts.
Functions:
Receive, interpret, and process Order Quotes, Truck Sales Orders (TSOs) and Truck Change Orders (TCOs). Review Quotes and the TSO for engineering feasibility.
Review orders for special programs, commitments and ensure accuracy. Resolve complex Compatibility, Code Generation, Data Code Status exceptions, Electronic and Application Checking issues noted on processing reports.
Support and maintain application tools and product data used to analyze, process, and maintain Order Quotes, Truck Sales Orders (TSOs), Truck Change Orders (TCOs), and the order backlog.
Provide advice and communication to dealers/customers and field staff concerning truck specifications, product availability, and delivery.
Work with Engineering & Marketing to maintain/create product definition and reduce Quote and Order exceptions.
Work with Marketing Strategy to help resolve Spec Pro issues to reduce Quote and Order exceptions.
Liaise among manufacturing plants, Scheduling, Pricing, Sales, customers/dealers and field staff to resolve problems in truck assembly and delivery.
Coordinate and/or resolve post delivery problems reported by customer, dealer or service personnel.
Arrange and manage Spec Review meetings, Pilot model inspections, and meetings with key management personnel of Freightliners customer base. Develop and distribute minutes/action item lists and track change orders resulting from these events.
Provide back-up support for clerical functions such as TSO and CBN initial processing, AFE/SUV processing and Daily reports distribution.
This is an entry level (L7) position within the Customer Application Engineering (CAE) department.
This position is expected to work with more senior members of the department as well as be involved in TOS activities.
Basic Qualifications – BS/BA Engineering required;
OR AA plus 1 year experience required;
OR
4 years of Daimler related experience required.Additional Information – Final candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
